About Me

Isaiah 61:3

Just Be

I was born in Haiti, Port-au-Prince and came to America when I was 4. Resided in Queens, NY for 22 years. I am a HUGE book lover. That started around middle school when my dad bought me a Percy Jackson book, I was the BIGGEST Percy Jackson fan. It was such an amazing escape for me that I never stopped reading. It made me fall in love with words, leading into my love for writing and spoken word/poetry. I was never the most outspoken as a kid. Growing up in a home where you really couldn’t speak your mind made it difficult for me to communicate but poetry gave me an outlet. Some of my favorite spoken words/poems are “In the depths of solitude” and “The fear in the heart of a man” by Tupac along with “What is a woman?” by Jackie Hill Perry as well as “motives and thoughts” by Lauryn Hill.

Here are a list of a few other things that I love.

–  a great worship session, handwritten letters,  poetry slams, a trip to Barnes & Nobles, movies, plants, anime, sunflowers, anything aesthetically pleasing, wine; preferably red and sweet. pasta, music(a good playlist, CDs, Vinyls), museums,  a deep conversation, and the long way home.
